Nhãn thấy sắc thường hay bận-bịu,

Tai ưa nghe những điệu âm thinh.

Mắt với tai đều chọn đẹp xinh,

Còn lỗ mũi ưa mùi êm dịu.

Đồ thơm tho nó ưa nó chịu,

Chốn xạ hương hay lết lại gần.

Lưỡi ưa ngon là chuyện ân-cần,

Đồ ngọt béo nó ưa nó mến.

Thân tham sướng muốn tiền của đến,

Đặng ăn xài cho phỉ tấm tình. [110]

Ý thì ưa sửa sắc soi hình,

Với chức phận cho cao cho quí.

Sáu đường ấy ở trong tâm ý,

Ta mau mau dứt nó cho rồi.

Nếu tỉnh tâm nào có mấy hồi,

Mượn trí-đạo đuổi ra khỏi xác.

Dứt được nó ấy là giải thoát,

Thì xác trần mới khỏi đọa-đày.

Cả tiếng kêu những kẻ trí tài,

Hãy yên lặng bình tâm suy-nghĩ. [120]

Tiên xử kỷ hậu lai xử bỉ,

Bắt lỗi người phải xét lỗi mình.

Vậy mới là phải bực công-bình,

Nẻo chánh-trực chí người quân-tử.

Người biết Đạo phải gìn ngôn ngữ,

Nói với ai chớ có sai lời.

Trọng mẹ cha kính nể Phật-Trời,

Đừng nhiều tiếng nghinh-ngang mang lỗi.

Tánh ngay thẳng ta không dời đổi,

Dầu tan xương nát thịt chẳng màng. [130]

Ta Khùng Điên nói đại nói càn,

Chẳng có sợ ai rầy ai mắng.

Trời còn lúc tối mưa sớm nắng,

Thì trần-gian còn mãi khổ lao.

Ở trên đời kẻ thấp người cao,

Kẻ hiền-hậu người thì gian-ác.

Không quen biết mà cao tuổi tác,

Ta cũng nên kính trọng mới là.

Tâm từ-bi sánh thể ngọc-ngà,

Trong các báu khó bì tánh Thiện. [140]

Phải xử thế chớ nên bày biện,

Miệng xảo ngôn thường kiện tấm thân.

Việc bán buôn phải giữ ngang cân,

Chớ tập tánh lận lường tráo đấu.

Các công cuộc của người tánh xấu,

Ta giữ-gìn chớ có nhiễm vào.

Tâm Bần Tăng chẳng mến sắc màu,

Mến những kẻ biết vào đường chánh.

Ta dạy thế mượn lời Phật Thánh,

Nên truyền ban cho chúng-sanh tường. [150]

Tuy ngày nay chúng nó hùng-cường,

Chừng phân định thì Ta cao-quí.

Khuyên bổn-đạo lập thân nuôi chí,

Đặng chờ ngày yết-kiến Phật Trời.

Quá yêu dân cạn tỏ nhiều lời,

Cho trần-hạ tìm trong lánh đục.

Chẳng chịu tu mãi còn lục-thục,

Lo giàu nghèo lo cũng chẳng rành.

Ham công-danh quên chữ sanh-thành,

Mến phú-quí quên câu dưỡng-dục. [160]

Rán kiếm chỗ tầm Tiên lánh tục,

Người ở đời phải được lòng trong.

Biển hồng-trần sớm gội cho xong,

Ngày lập hội mới mong trở lại.

Chữ bần-tiện khuyên dân đừng nại,

Miễn cho ta trở lại ngay đàng.

Chữ vinh-hoa giờ chớ có màng,

Bởi giả tạm của đời Nguơn-hạ.

Gắng công tu xem nhiều phép lạ,

Của Thần-Tiên trừ lũ hung-đồ. [170]

Nào lụa là, lãnh nhiễu, tố sô,

Chớ ham mến mà sau lao-lý.

Ngày tiêu-diệt từ năm Bính-Tý,

Đến năm nay hao hớt đã nhiều.

Các ngoại bang đà nhượm máu điều,

Sao trần-thế không toan chẳng liệu.

Để đến việc dang lưng mà chịu,

Chớ Phật đâu cứu kịp cho người.

Khuyên chúng-sanh bỏ tánh biếng lười,

Phải sốt-sắng làm ăn cần-thiết. [180]

Nghèo với đói từ đây sẽ biết,

Hàng ngoại bang bố-thiết ta hoài.

Nên bá-gia hãy rán miệt-mài,

Dầu rách rưới cũng mau cần-kiệm.

Lời Ta dạy hãy nên suy-nghiệm,

Phải phá tan Ngũ-Uẩn trong mình.

Chữ Tham trong ý muốn mặc tình,

Rán định tánh trừ cho nó tuyệt.

Chữ gây-gổ là Sân hãy diệt,

Cho nó đừng thấp-thoáng trong lòng. [190]

Thêm chữ Si thiệt quá lòng-dòng,

Nên tỉnh trí tìm nơi dụt tắt.

Chữ Nhơn Ngã cũng là quá gắt,

Ta chớ nên phân biệt với người.

Dẹp năm tên được mới mừng cười,

Vô pháp-tướng mới là thiệt tướng.

Người tu hành phải trừ nghiệp-chướng,

Với bốn ma mới đặng an-nhàn.

Tửu nhiễm vào thân thể bất an,

Sắc mến nó ngày kia lao khổ. [200]

On seeing Bodily Form, the Eyes tend to bond,

The Ears are inclined to hear diverse tones.

The pretty things are Eyes and Ears’ favorite,

The Nose likes to smell anything aromatic,

It is fond of any kind of fragrance,

Perfume often attracts it from a distance.

The Tongue is prone to what is delicious,

Sweet and Fatty things please its buds.

The comfort seeking Body  desires plenty money.

So that it may go on a spending spree.

Thought tends to fuss about one’s appearance,

Plus prestige and personal influence.

These Six Paths are built into one’s psyche,

Get rid of them once and for all in a hurry.

If you’re elevated, it will not take a lot of time,

To remove them from your body with insight.

Having done so, you are liberalized,

Then your body will be free from trauma.

We appeal to the members of intelligentsia,

For self-reflection free from all tempers.

Judge yourself before judging others,

To blame, see if you’ve been blamable.

Thus you will have made a fair appraisal,

Righteousness is the core of a gentleman.

The Tao literate must keep what they’ve spoken,

Once you’ve promised, never roll it back.

Treat your parents and the Supreme with respect,

Don’t offend them with your insolency.

Always keep intact your integrity,

Though this might lead to pulping your body.

We, Mad and Crazy, speak off the top of our heads,

Fearless of anyone who scolds or nags.

If it still rains at dusk and shines in morning,

The world will keep suffering.

In real life, all people's levels are different,

Some are gentle, others fraudulent.

Whoever you haven’t known yet is your senior,

You should respect them as a basic demeanor.

Your loving kindness is comparable to jewelry,

None of it yet matches your Integrity.

Treat each other rather than taking to a litigation,

As misrepresentation often invites self-accusation.

Traders must maintain a scale balance,

Don’t train yourself in fraudulence.

If someone does things of bad character,

Do not get involved with the racketeer.

The Monks like Us do not like any color,

But the right path travelers whom We favor.

We teach the lay people with Scriptures,

Which we ensure be accessible to all creatures.

Although nowadays they’re overly brazen,

We will be a more reputable lot on judgement.

You should align your goals with our scheme,

To wait for the day to meet up with the Supreme.

We love you too much to succinctly explain,

On how to seek purity and avoid stain.

You have not practiced yet procrastinate,

You never learn well how to accumulate.

Fame cravers tend to forget their birth givers,

Affluence addicts neglect their raisers.

Take refuge in saintliness and shun worldliness,

The earthling must get mental pureness.

If you’ve stripped yourself of all temptations,

May you hope to join the Grand Reunion.

Do not feel down while in poverty,

Provided you recover your probity.

Do not bother now about your affluence,

It is ‘cause of the Lower Age’s impermanence.

Practice hard in order to see miracles,

Which the Divine use to punish rascals.

The silk, the ornate fabric, the lingerie,

Don’t crave them as this may hold you captive.

Doomsday has started from the Year of Fire Rat,

Tolls have already been huge the year to date.

Foreign states have gone through bloodsheds,

How come you haven’t planned ahead.

Lest you should suffer when things turn bad,

As Buddhas may not turn up until too late.

You need to get rid of your laziness,

Be diligent taking good care of your business.

From now on, hunger and poverty will be certain,

As import shortage causes us a constant strain.

We urge you to work conscientiously,

Albeit wretched, you can’t wait to be thrifty.

What we’ve said must be thought through,

The Five-Aggregates in you must be removed.

Greed often arises from whatever you wished,

Be mindful and have it extinguished.

Destroy the Anger that often triggers quarrel,

Don’t let it still flicker in your soul.

Delusion is really a run-around,

Be self-aware and seek to put it out.

Ego-clinging is extremely gruelling,

Don’t differentiate yourself from the other being.

The Five Guys once destroyed, you will be happy,

Nothingness only is the true entity.

Only if the practicer gets rid of their bad karma,

And of Four Ghosts, will they enjoy euphoria.

When Alcohol enters your body, it turns unstable,

Form desire will make your ordeal potential.
