Trước sau bày tỏ nguồn cơn,

Vì thương lê-thứ chi sờn lòng Đây.

Có người lối xóm muốn gây,

Xin sáu trái bắp liền quày xuống ghe.

Ghe Điên vốn thiệt ghe be,

Người cha đi lại thấy rầy:

– Thiệt mấy đứa nầy cãi-cọ làm chi.

Bước ra nhà nọ một khi,

Đi lên đi xuống kiếm thì xe lôi.

Gặp xe chẳng có lên ngồi,

Chạy trước đi rồi ngừng lại chỗ kia.

Xóm nầy kẻ ghét người ưa,

Ghé vào nhà nọ nhổ bừa cái răng.

Nhổ rồi lui tới lăng-xăng,

Liền bước xuống thuyền Thầy Tớ thả trôi. [700]

When asked how I’ve gained my virtues,

Saying I know nothing upsets Third Elder.

Sadly, I step out of the shelter,

I fasten my oars and scull wherever.

I keep going without a stop-over,

My mouth also advertising Paradise.

A person comes down the pier for a ride,

I whisper that he will lose his life.

You don’t really have a compassionate mind:

You’ve asked twice but why didn’t you go?

For the world’s sake, I’m very distraught,

What is your fare for the journey?

Crazy say I don’t ask for many,

It’s up to you and I don’t crave much.

Crazy don’t have any greed as such,

The boat inside has been fully packed.

I, the old man, take you just for a slack,

Thus please come and sit right after here.

The man seems to have an evil idea:

I do this, how come you don’t let me in?

The condition is cool and dry in the cabin,

I have enough money to pay for you.

The cabin interior looks empty, though,

Once he has hastened in, his blood oozes.

This is how I admonish the brute,

Both boat and person vanish, without a trace.

Then up to Cho Moi I went away,

Rowing up and down, I also loudly say.

Here a bloodshed used to take place,

But no one has now been a true practicer.

Crazy has by no means sought for cents,

But the worldly are too blind to get informed.

They ask me where I’m from, I reply:

I’m from the Plow Hill of King Yao.

At this stage, I’m saddened somehow,

Quitting the boat, I try without surrender.

Then I pretend to be a Receptacle Welder,

I have scanned through the whole village.

Where I go, I tell both loss and advantage,

My house has a Five-Stringed instrument.

I still have to carry this debt for repayment,

Thus I have to do this to clear my karma.

My home suffers no shortage,

As my bag is carrying Eighty-grade silver.

Hearing this, many burst into laughter,

I’m in jail, what do you laugh at me for?

At once I depart the Cho Moi port,

Up and downstream I arrive at Ba Rang.

Few know the principle of permanence,

I drop in a shaman’s saying benighted.

From the beginning to the end, I confided,

For people’s love, my heart will never wear,

Then a querulous neighbor appears.

I ask for six corns, then return to my scull,

It is the boat which has a really bulging hull.

But, against the water stream, I row head on,

When I wield power, it runs like a cyclone.

One who goes down the pier is suspicious,

I wonder who this old man is.

His tied sculling requires a lot of energy,

The person is divine but one takes no heed.

They keep deriding disaffecting the Ancient.

The world today is as thin as a sheer screen,

I teach laity leaving off no sentence.

No matter how much time I spend,

Provided people attain their happiness.

I have pity for people in distress,

Whose joy is worn out by drudgery.

Many are wretched and solitary,

Without land to set up shelter or lodge in.

As my boat is gliding through the wind,

Suddenly I hear a distressful cry of grief.

This comes from the person of same hamlet,

Whose house was broken in and emptied up.

The patrol gods explained what was up,

That the poor has been in grievance.

Having heard so, Crazy turn back at once,

Using astrology to comfort the mundane.

Having read it, I have pros and cons explained.

Urging her not to keep her hatred,

Then I go for a walk around the hamlet.

I come to the house which pounds rice.

When I’ve entered it, I chat a while.

I meet the drug seller who also drops in:

-Dear lady, please buy a lotion to drink,

It helps you treat a variety of rhumatisms.

For usage, dilute it in pure water and warm,

Don’t mix with alcohol that affects embryo.

Two lads from the hamlet tell her what to do,

This medicine has so far been sluggish.

Their father comes to admonish:

-What is the point for you to argue?

I step out the house once through,

And I walk around to find a rickshaw.

When one pulls over, I don’t get aboard,

I let the driver run first and stop there.

In this hamlet, some hate me, others care,

I drop in a house and remove a tooth.

Having done so, back and forth I move,

Then, the team embark and drift down.
