They perform myriad miraculous actions,
From nine-level clouds arises a flute symphony.
While the bad will be burnt for immorality,
True practicers will live in the Ancient Era.
By order of the Western Land’s Patriarch Buddha,
Mad go preaching across the Southern Region.
The Long Hoa Gathering will choose the decent,
The virtuous who can serve the King.
We urge the rich who own a lot of things,
Open your heart to shed pity on the penurious.
As affluence is too precarious,
The rich will later face a lot of tragedies.
Our folks! The deep jungle has its own arteries,
Which, albeit obscure, have gold temples.
Gwan Yiṇ ̣has ordered Mad to tell people,
How to find out where the truth is.
Ritual hordes often act as monkeys,
Borrowing sutras to chant for moneys.
The Hell Court records their sins night and day,
But these monks have not been noting.
Shen Xiu followers have bells and tocsins,
But how many of those have become wise?
Merciful Buddha helps people, dead or alive,
That is to support only the candid and genial.
Joss papers and streamers make up a weird ritual,
These platforms are to bluff the lay world.
The affluent, the plutocrats, the cartel lords,
To do filial piety by pageant liturgy.
Pitiably those who, for lack of clarity,
Think that this has well served their righteousness.
We are touched by such an erroneousness,
Wake up, my fellow believers.
If the dead, while living, had made many suffer,
In Hell they have to suffer corporal punishments.
Though the sky net is so immense,
It will not leak anyone with cruelty.
When you die, your soul leaves your body,
And Death Demon escorts you to the Hell.
Where all merits and demerits show up well,
Rewards and penalties are distinctive on either sides.
We’re apt at helping you seek the Paradise,
Hastily take to self-cultivation.
The world is soon facing its perdition,
But you do not fulfil your human duties.
For the poor without rice and moneys,
You should be kind-hearted providers.
Be sincere rather than doing a lip prayer,
Think of Buddha rather than loudly chanting.
With the Right Tao and a good health you’re having,
You should soon accomplish your filial duties.
The Filial Way is to repay Ten Debts of gratitude ,
While parents are alive, never leave them in solitude.
If a rite enables them to ascend the Pure Land,
The rich must meet both the requirements at hand.
Leaning on power, they readily commit any crime,
When they die, they have plenty moneys to bribe.
Sutra chanting sounds nice and musical,
The ritual team has been well-versed in rehearsals.
Stringed instruments, trumpets, drums, tocsins,
Well coordinated to ask for higher pricings.
If the lay mind still has self and non-self divided .
How will it be free from being reincarnated?
Offering votive papers must cease,
It’s unreasonable to waste money to burn these.
Shen Xiu used to contrive witchery,
To guide the people of the Tang dynasty.
The sentient beings are miserably mistaken,
As the Hell takes no inducement.
If large buddhas are cast with lofty shrines,
They only make Buddhism decline.
For the Wu Wei practices, don’t offer sweets,
As Buddha never wants sentient beings’ treats.
Sangha and laity tend to favor sweet things,
Thus they often invent more offerings.
If the opulent are indifferent to the sufferer,
Their worships will hardly help them recover.
When a poor has done truthful practices,
Will Buddha abandon them ‘cause of no sacrifices?
To set up a ritual , people solicit with frenzy,
They smear their faces and play Buddha parody.
Crop losses have been caused by inundations,
Therefore, quickly abandon superstitions.
Try to abide by the Three Noble Principles ,
It is a gem to have perfected your morals.
Near to the dragon flying the tail of the snake ,
The people are going to face a grueling state.
Seeing the sentient beings still self-immersing,
Crazy show them the wrong and right pathings.
We are an invisible man who yet is physical,
Hidden in a lay body We are Sakyamuni’s disciples.
Evildoers are ghosts and devils,
The morally good are Buddhas and Saints.
Many vagrants have been homeless,
But the rich show no interest.
If a servant erred, they would suffer a scold,
They could be beaten as animals, though.
If the rich retain and store all their leftover,
What for is it to offer a huge sum to Buddha?
Westerly Buddhas are merciful by character,
Lacking in nothing, Buddhas never solicit whatever.
